This football season, kick your game watching parties up a notch with this festive–and extremely easy–pennant banner to support your favorite team! While this is a great way to show your school spirit, it can easily be replicated for any occasion, be it a birthday party, engagement party, etc…It requires few supplies, little time, and minimal “crafting” skills, if you’re normally one to deter from the do-it-yourself projects.
SUPPLIES
- Burlap fabric [I found this gold-dotted burlap at Joann’s Fabrics]
– Dependent upon how many pennants you want to make, I only used about a 54″ x 8″ section of fabric. - Scissors or Rotary Cutter + Fabric Mat
- Twine
- Craft Paint
- Stencils
- Hot Glue Gun + Hot Glue
INSTRUCTIONS
Using a fabric rotary cutter and mat, I measured my burlap pennants [7″ wide, 8″ long], marked them off with chalk, and cut into triangles. If you don’t have a rotary cutter + mat, not to worry! Just use scissors.
Once I had all of my pennants cut, I laid them out and followed the same painting + stenciling process as when I made the monogrammed burlap wine bags for Christmas last year. [remember these?!]. I free-handed my longhorn, but you should easily be able to find your school logo online to print and trace as well.
