Earlier this year, I updated my guest bedroom so that it could double as my ‘project room’ and better house my ever-growing hoard collection of DIY and crafting supplies. While I wanted to change the overall purpose of the room, I needed to do so on a budget, so to IKEA I went! This desk is by far one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, and for under $100 it was a no-brainer. It has plenty of space for my projects, plus it makes the perfect white backdrop for blog + Instagram photos. I loved the Hemnes 8-Drawer Dresser in my bedroom so much, that I got another one for this room and added some fancy brass pull-ring knobs to dress it up. Each drawer is organized by category: paints, sewing + fabric, wrapping, tools, etc…which makes my OCD-heart so very, very happy. The space above the dresser still needs some work, but that’s a project for another day. Not pictured, in the corner, is IKEA’s Vittsjo shelving unit [only $49!], which I spray painted gold. It perfectly stores and displays all of the inventory in my Esty shop + miscellaneous and assorted props + glassware for photo-shoots or parties.I’m so much happier now that this room serves double-duty! However, as you can imagine, it only looks this clean about 16.3% of the time. Last month it looked like BHLDN exploded as I was crafting decorations for a wedding [blog post to come!] and currently it’s covered in pumpkins for my upcoming Halloween posts and TV segments [post to come on those too!].
